A new bill in the US House of Representatives has passed a bill against Islamophobia.
According to international media, Democrats supported the bill against Islamophobia with 219 votes while Republicans opposed the bill. The bill would create a department to monitor Islamophobia cases, but before that the bill would be sent to the US Senate for legislation.
The move comes after Muslim members of the US Congress last month condemned Republican House of Representatives member Lorraine Boebert for making Islamophobic remarks. Expressing happiness in a tweet, Congress member Alhan Umran said that the passage of the bill against Islamophobia is a milestone for Muslims.
The passage of this legislation in the House of Representatives is a huge milestone for Muslims around the world and a powerful signal that Islamophobia cannot be tolerated anywhere.
