Netflix’s newly released controversial docu-series depicting another version of Queen Cleopatra has been making rounds on social media.
As per Variety, part of Egypt’s state-affiliated United Media Services is working to produce a top-quality documentary about the Egyptian ruler, which, as they claimed, will be based on ‘utmost levels’ of research and accuracy.
A government-owned Egyptian broadcaster has responded to the controversy over the casting of a Black actress to play Cleopatra in the Netflix docudrama series “African Queens,” which streams from May 10, by announcing the production of its own big-budget Cleopatra doc.
