Money Heist spinoff ‘Berlin’ has finally been greenlighted by Netflix as it will return for a second season.
During its premiere week, Berlin was the most-watched series globally and reached the top 10 in 91 countries, as per Netflix.
The series is now ranked at number nine among the most-watched non-English-language series in the history of Netflix.
After months of speculations of season 2, the iconic character, played by Pedro Alonso, will be back with a new heist.

Berlin is the latest expansion of the “Money Heist” franchise at Netflix following the monumental success of the original series. The streamer also debuted a Korean version of the show dubbed “Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area,” which premiered in two parts in June and December 2022.

Money Heist originally debuted on the Spanish TV channel Antena 3 before Netflix acquired worldwide streaming rights to the series in 2017. Its popularity exploded across the globe, with the show quickly becoming one of the most-watched non-English language shows in its history.
Plot
The drama series is set as World War III is about to break out, leading a group of multimillionaires to take refuge in a luxury bunker.
Season 1
The first season of Berlin ended with the title character and his crew narrowly escaping France with an assortment of priceless crown jewels.
Filming
The filming of the second season of Berlin will begin in 2025.
