NEPRA to hear petition over increase in electricity bill today

ISLAMABAD: The price of electricity will likely be increased by Rs 4.33 per unit.

In this regard, the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) will hear the petition today. According to the details, the unit price of electricity was increased several times during the PTI regime.

The Central Power Purchasing Agency has filed a fresh application to increase the price of electricity. NEPRA officials will hold a hearing today at the request of CPPA. The Central Power Purchasing Agency has requested an increase in the price of electricity by Rs. 4.33.

It may be recalled that earlier preparations were made to drop an electric bomb on the people due to inflation. K Electric requested the NEPRA to increase the price of electricity.

K-Electric on last Thursday, applied to the NEPRA to increase the price of electricity by Rs 5.18 per unit. NEPRA said that the application for the first quarter of the current financial year.
