ISLAMABAD: The National Cybercrime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has initiated proceedings against Noreen Niazi, sister of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf founder Imran Khan, for allegedly making a controversial statement regarding Marka-e-Haq.
According to details, the NCCIA has issued a summons notice to Noreen Niazi, directing her to appear before the agency on July 20 to record her statement.
In its notice, the agency stated that Noreen Niazi allegedly made false, insulting and provocative statements on social media. The NCCIA further contended that the purpose of her statements was to defame state institutions and promote false narratives.
It may be recalled that a video statement attributed to Noreen Niazi came to light earlier today regarding Marka-e-Haq, in which she alleged that Marka-e-Haq was a nexus between the Pakistan Army and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
In the alleged statement, she further claimed that if Modi had wanted, he would have “fixed it in two minutes,” and that India did not attack Pakistan at the behest of Israel because Pakistan was going to recognize Israel.
The NCCIA has sought an explanation from Noreen Niazi in light of the said remarks.
