US basketball superstar Kyrie Irving, known for his vocal support for Palestinians, has changed his display picture to an image of a Palestinian child with a school bag who is reportedly being blocked from going to school by Israeli soldiers in the occupied West Bank.
The image shows a student being stopped from reaching school by Israeli soldiers, underscoring the Dallas Mavericks star’s continued public stance against what he describes as the ongoing oppression of Palestinians.

NBA star Kyrie Irving has consistently shown solidarity with Palestine. He has supported Palestine by wearing a keffiyeh to post-game conferences, wearing a “PRESS” shirt for journalists, and using his platform to protest the conflict in Gaza.

In February 2026, he wore a “PRESS” shirt designed to look like the protective gear of Palestinian journalists during an NBA All-Star event.
In August 2025, he honored 11-year-old Palestinian media activist Yaqeen Hammad, who was killed in an airstrike, by making her his profile picture.
