MUMBAI: Bollywood actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui has slammed celebrities for posting vacation pictures amid coronavirus pandemic as India recently recorded the world’s biggest single-day rise in coronavirus cases.
The Serious Men is pretty upset with celebrities posting vacation pictures on social media. In an interview with Indian media, “These entertainment celebrities posting vacation pictures at a time when the world is reeling under the worst recession. Logon ke pass khana nahin hai aur aap paise phenk rahe ho . Kuch toh sharm karo (People do not have anything to eat here and such celebrities are busy wasting money, they should be ashamed).”

He further quipped, “But what else will they talk about? Acting? They will run out of steam in two minutes. They made have fun of places like Maldives. I do not know what their arrangement is with the tourism industry. But for the sake of humanity, please keep these vacations to yourself. There is suffering everywhere. The cases of COVID-19 are multiplying. Have a heart. Please don’t taunt those who are suffering.”
Earlier, Nawazuddin Siddiqui shared that despite his fame in movies, he faces discrimination due to his caste. The Bollywood star said that his grandmother belonged to a lower caste and that is why she has never been accepted by the villagers to date.
Nawazuddin Siddiqui said that people on social media still say that there is no caste system in India but if they visit a place like their village, they will see the reality, the actor added.
