ISLAMABAD: Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has challenged the order of accountability court in the Toshakhana reference in the Islamabad High Court.
It may be recalled that two months ago, the accountability court had issued an arrest warrant for Nawaz Sharif in the Toshakhana reference on the request of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), after which an advertisement for Nawaz Sharif’s summons was posted outside the accountability court.
The accountability court said that Nawaz Sharif was deliberately evading the proceedings. “We give Nawaz Sharif one last chance to appear and respond by 17th August,” the court warned. Earlier, a notice was posted outside the former premier’s residence in Raiwind.
It may be recalled that the accountability court had on 7th July issued an advertisement for Nawaz Sharif’s summons in the Toshakhana reference.
The advertisement said that Nawaz Sharif was deliberately absconding from the court proceedings.
