ISLAMABAD: Federal Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah has claimed that time has come for making appointment of new Army Chief of the country, but Chairman PTI Imran Khan has ‘missed the train’.
Talking on a private TV channel, he said that in his opinion, “Nawaz Sharif will not interfere in the process of appointing new Army Chief,” adding that it would be the Prime Minister who would take decision for the said appointment in accordance with relevant laws and the Constitution.
The Federal Interior Minister said that the government would not bow down to the pressure of any group and give the date of the general election. He said had Imran Khan not given the call of agitation for May 25, the date of election would probably have been announced.
He said that because of being in the government, allied parties were tolerating the misbehavior of the PTI, and the scenario would change as soon as a caretaker set up took over. He said as soon as the government’s control is taken over by an interim government, “we would instruct party workers to go for tit-for-tat to any unwarranted action by PTI.
