Nation to observe ‘Kashmir Hour’ today

ISLAMABAD: The nation will observe ‘Kashmir Hour’ today to express solidarity with the people of Indian occupied Kashmir (IoK).
The ‘Kashmir Hour’ will be observed between 12pm to 12:30pm throughout the country and the national anthem of Pakistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) will be played in a show of solidarity with the people of occupied Kashmir.
Rallies are planned after Friday prayers. The prime minister will address a rally outside Parliament. Flags of Pakistan and AJK will be distributed among the public. There will also be special sermons and prayers for Kashmiri people during Friday prayers.
Both the anthems will be aired on all television and radio channels. All people and traffic will stand still when the national anthems are played. Masses are asked to remain out of their offices, houses, markets and malls, and gather in the nearby streets all over the country during the Kashmir hour.
In a series of tweets on Thursday, prime minister Imran Khan asked people to come out on Friday between 12pm and 12:30pm to send a message to the people of Kashmir that Pakistan stands by them and against Indian prime minister Narendar Modi’s fascist oppression.
The day will be observed in a befitting manner through different activities organized by trade unions, corporations, chambers, civil society and people from different walks of life.
