In May this year, Pakistani climber Naila Kiani has successfully summited world’s higher peak Mount Everest at 8,849m above sea level.
She became the second Pakistani woman to achieve this feat. It was earlier achieved by Samina Baig in 2013.
“There is no better feeling than being on top of the mountain, holding the flag of your country, and making the whole nation proud,” said Naila as she shared her sentiments on this major achievement.
The young climber said she was super ecstatic to have accomplished another long-awaited milestone that had been on her bucket-list for a long time.
Naila recently summited K2 in her first attempt and also scaled Gasherbrum-I and Gasherbrum-II in Pakistan. She also became the first Pakistani woman to climb the 8,091-metre tall Annapurna peak – the world’s tenth-highest peak situated in Nepal.
Naila Kiana is a Dubai-based Pakistani banker. Besides being mother of two daughters, she is also an amateur boxer.
