Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi announced on Thursday the elimination of the National Database Registration Authority (NADRA) death certificate fee.
During his visit to the NADRA headquarters, the minister toured all sectors and instructed the authorities to establish NADRA offices nationwide following the model of well-functioning police stations in Punjab.
In the meeting, the minister directed the waiver of fees for death certificates to enhance public convenience and emphasized ensuring the complete security of citizens’ data.
Naqvi commended the outstanding performance of the current Chairman of NADRA, Lieutenant General Muhammad Munir Afsar.
As part of the plantation campaign, the minister planted saplings on the lawn of the National Database Registration Authority headquarters.
During the briefing, Mr. Muhammad Munir Afsar presented NADRA’s Roadmap 2024-2025, which outlined plans for modern and phased security architecture, cyber security audits, and enhancing employee cyber security awareness. Additionally, the National Database Registration Authority Strategic Plan was discussed.
The chairman briefed the minister on plans to upgrade NADRA’s technology and infrastructure, as well as improving online registration platforms, to ensure efficient access to these facilities for both Pakistanis living abroad and local citizens.
