ISLAMABAD: Legislation Department of the National Assembly has proposed to convene a meeting of the lower house of the Parliament before March 22 on the no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan, while the Assembly Secretariat declared the no-confidence motion as per rules.
According to details, the no-confidence file was sent to Speaker Asad Qaiser, who was asked to convene a meeting of the lower house on any day before March 22. Verification of signatures of members on movement and relocation was also completed
The opposition’s no-confidence motion and relocation were carefully scrutinized and no suspicious signatures were found. The National Assembly Secretaries termed the no-confidence motion against Imran Khan as per the rules.
Speaker Asad Qaiser is bound by the constitution to convene a session of the National Assembly, which cannot be deviated from. The process of verification of signatures on relocation and no-confidence motion has been completed.
The meeting may be called on any day before March 22.

Prime Minister Imran Khan has summoned the senior leadership of PTI for consultation on the final date of the National Assembly session. Federal Ministers Pervez Khattak, Fawad Chaudhry, Ali Zaidi and Shafqat Mahmood will participate in the consultation process.
The meeting in Bani Gala, chaired by the Prime Minister, will have a final consultation on the date of the National Assembly session and will also consider strategies to thwart the no-confidence motion, source said and added that the date of the National Assembly session will be announced with the approval of the Prime Minister.
