KARACHI: Polling for the second phase of local body elections is going on in Karachi and Hyderabad today, which has been boycotted by MQM. Jamaat-e-Islami and PTI have strongly criticized the United leaders.
According to the details, PTI Sindh president Ali Zaidi said that MQM used the Election Commission’s attitude as an excuse to escape from local elections, left the playing field, and ran away.
While talking to the media, former Minister of Naval Affairs Ali Zaidi said that MQM will not leave the federal government despite running away from the election. Actually, MQM could not get candidates in 246 union councils.
Ali Zaidi said that MQM has no option but to run away from the elections due to not getting a candidate, but PTI will directly benefit from Muttahida’s boycott.

PTI Sindh President Ali Zaidi predicted that the mayor of Karachi and Hyderabad will be from Tehreek-e-Insaaf. Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman also criticized the MQM leaders.
Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman said that we want MQM to come to the field, and assess its own importance and political stature. MQM and other parties conspired to delay the local elections.
Rehman said that Jamaat-e-Islami also had reservations about constituencies and voter lists, but PTI and MQM are involved in such activities. It is not true that the credibility of local body elections will be lost due to MQM’s boycott, he said.
