A serious internal rift has emerged within the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P), as senior leaders Syed Mustafa Kamal and Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui engaged in a public war of words, exposing growing divisions within the party.
The dispute escalated after Mustafa Kamal openly criticized Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui’s leadership, questioning his tenure, saying that “an extension-seeking leader cannot secure our rights.”
His remarks triggered strong reactions within party ranks and led to protests at the MQM-P temporary headquarters in Bahadurabad.
In response, Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui rejected the allegations and hit back at Kamal, saying he “did not surrender against tyranny” and questioned how he could be afraid of “tyrannical slaves.”
He further advised Kamal to “stay in his lane” and not consider himself above the party.
The exchange sparked tensions between rival factions, with supporters of Kamal and Anees Qaimkhani staging demonstrations at the party office.
Workers raised concerns over recent internal decisions, including Siddiqui’s move regarding administrative oversight of MQM-P lawmakers.
