The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) immigration team has apprehended ‘most wanted’ human trafficker in Islamabad.
Amjad Ali is accused of involvement in human trafficking and visa fraud. In 2007, a case was filed against him by the Anti-Human Trafficking Circle in Rawalpindi. After fleeing abroad following the commission of visa fraud, his name was added to the Red Book as one of the most-wanted human traffickers.
According to an FIA spokesperson, Amjad Ali was arrested upon his arrival at Islamabad International Airport on Qatar Airways flight QR632. His name had been added to the stop list for passengers.
In a separate operation, the FIA Cyber Crime Circle in Rawalpindi arrested two individuals, including a key member of a gang engaged in online financial fraud. The arrested suspects, Adil Noman and Abdul Qadir, were apprehended in different areas of Rawalpindi.
Abdul Qadir is believed to be part of an organized gang that used spoofing call software to deceive unsuspecting citizens. Meanwhile, Adil Noman is suspected of being involved in online banking fraud, allegedly embezzling Rs1.7 million from a citizen’s account by accessing his confidential banking information through a mobile banking app.
