Former captain Muhammad Hafeez is set to lose his central PCB contract for the next fiscal year as he has turned down the Pakistan Cricket Board’s Category-C contract.
PCB chief executive Wasim Khan expressed frustration over Muhammad Hafeez’s refusal and said he respected his decision. Cricketer Fawad Alam and Mohammad Rizwan have been promoted to central contracts for their outstanding performances in Test cricket.
In category C, Fawad Alam is accompanied by Fakhr Zaman, Iftikhar Ahmed, Emad Wasim, Imamul Haq, Naseem Shah, and Usman Shinwari, while in the category of emerging players, Haider Ali, Haris Rauf, and Mohammad Hasnain are included.
Rizwan moved from B to A category of Central Contract while Fawad Alam was shifted from A Plus of Domestic Contract to C Category of Central Contract. Azhar Ali, Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, and Shaheen Shah Afridi are in Category A of the current Central Contract while Abid Ali, Asad Shafiq, Haris Sohail, Mohammad Abbas, Sarfraz Ahmed, Shadab Khan, Shaun Masood, and Yasir Shah are in Category B.
On the occasion, Wasim Khan said that a match between Karachi Kings and Quetta Gladiators is planned at Gwadar Stadium. The match between the two teams will be played on 25th March.
