Workplace harassment against women remains a widespread issue globally, and Pakistan is no exception. Recently, model Aleesa accused photographer Kamil Javaid of harassment, sharing WhatsApp messages and a recorded phone call as evidence.
Aleesa took to Instagram to disclose that Javaid had initially approached her for a professional photoshoot in Skardu for a prominent brand.
However, their conversation took an unsettling turn when he insisted on a personal “meetup” before finalizing the project. Javaid persistently asked, “When can we meet up?” When Aleesa questioned the necessity of meeting in person, he vaguely replied, “If you’re easy, then we meet; otherwise, no issue.”

Growing suspicious, Aleesa pressed further, asking, “Why should I meet you?” Javaid’s cryptic response was, “You know very well why.” The situation escalated when Aleesa recorded their phone call, during which Javaid suggested meeting at a hotel. His nervous and hesitant explanations raised serious concerns. At one point, he said, “You were my reference. I got you work. I should also get something.”
Aleesa exposed the conversation on Instagram, writing, “I feel like everybody has to see this side of the industry! I’m not saying all of them are the same, but a few people are tarnishing the image of this profession.” She also tagged major fashion brands, including Nishat Linen, Khaadi, and Maria B., urging them to hold individuals accountable for misusing their names.
In her post, Aleesa highlighted the misconception that bold attire equates to easy character, stating, “CHARACTER HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH WHAT YOU WEAR! This is something men fail to understand daily.”
Her revelations sparked widespread outrage, with celebrities and social media users calling for stricter measures to address exploitation and prevent predators from abusing their influence unchecked.
