Minister urges political parties to set differences aside for Karachi’s betterment

ISLAMABAD: Minister for Information Senator Shibli Faraz has said urged political parties to set differences aside for the betterment of Karachi.

While addressing a press conference in Islamabad today, the minister said all political parties should be on one page as far as the infrastructure improvement in Karachi is concerned.

He said PM Imran Khan assured Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah of maximum assistance to coup with the disasters of heavy rainfall in the metropolis.

Shibli Faraz said that PM Imran Khan will pay a visit to Karachi soon as he is representing the poor segment of the Pakistani society.

The nationals have experienced the 12-year tenure of PPP in Sindh and the ruling political party in the province should publicize the expenditures on the port city now, he added.

Faraz expressed sympathy with the people of Karachi who have been devastated by the torrential rains in the past few days.

The federal government was completely aware of the development needs of Karachi and assured that to play a due role and resolve its issues.

He also expressed sorrow over the loss of life and property due to rains and floods. He paid tribute to the institutions and volunteers for dealing with the emergency.

While commenting over the economic crisis, Shibli Faraz said that PM Imran Khan has collected many successes in different challenges and the nation was brought out of the crisis after the COVID-19 outbreak.

The federal government will take more steps to overcome the economic crisis besides providing more eases to the nationals hit by inflation, the minister added.

He clarified that sufficient stocks of sugar and wheat are reaching Pakistan which will bring down its prices.

He informed that the government had already allowed TCP to import 1.5 million tonnes of wheat through an open international bidding process in order to meet the identified demand of 0.70 million tonnes of wheat by Punjab, 0.30 million tonnes of wheat by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and 0.5 million tonnes required to replenish the strategic reserves of PASSCO.
