ISLAMABAD: Neither the current federal government nor the former PML-N government is ready to take responsibility for the current power crisis in the country. Federal Energy Minister Hammad Azhar and former finance minister and PML-N leader Miftah Ismail came face to face on social media on the issue.
In his message on social networking site Twitter, former finance minister Miftah Ismail blamed PTI for the power crisis and asked whether the IMF had asked PTI not to install LNG terminals?
In a Twitter message, PML-N leader Miftah Ismail asked whether the IMF had asked the government not to buy cheap LNG or to generate electricity from furnace oil or to increase T&D losses or reduce bills.
The former finance minister blamed the PTI for the energy crisis and asked whether the IMF had asked the government to violate the merit order. The incompetence of the PTI is the reason for the dictation of the IMF.
On the other hand, the energy minister could not remain silent. Hammad Azhar said in a Twitter message that he was requested to inform that the fuel adjustment is being made due to the fuel of imported LNG and imported coal power plants.
