Amid the ongoing heatwave, residents of Karachi may experience some respite, as the Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecast rain and thunderstorms in the port city and other parts of Sindh on Monday and Tuesday.
According to the Met Office, certain suburban areas of Karachi are expected to receive showers accompanied by thunder on Monday night or Tuesday, with gusty winds likely during rainfall in peripheral regions on Tuesday.
The department stated that a westerly weather system is currently affecting the upper parts of the country, while moisture-laden winds are moving into eastern Sindh. As a result, scattered light to moderate rain with thunder is expected in several districts, including Ghotki, Sukkur, Jacobabad, Qambar Shahdadkot, Shikarpur, Khairpur, Dadu, Naushahro Feroze, Shaheed Benazirabad, and Tharparkar.
Rainfall is also anticipated in parts of Punjab, particularly in Rawalpindi, Murree, Attock, and Jhelum.
Meanwhile, hot weather conditions are likely to persist over the coming days in Balochistan and interior regions of Sindh.
