A total of 517 legislators have not submitted their tax returns to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) by the deadline of December 31.
The ECP has indicated that members may submit their returns after the deadline, with a final cutoff set for January 15.
The breakdown of those who have yet to submit their returns includes 23 members from the Senate, 116 from the National Assembly, 208 from the Punjab Assembly, 55 from the Sindh Assembly, 91 from the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, and 24 from the Balochistan Assembly.
The commission has issued a warning that lawmakers who do not submit their tax returns by January 15 will face suspension of their memberships.
Prominent figures who have not yet filed their tax returns include Senate Chairman Yousaf Raza Gilani, Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti, Farooq H Naik, Aleem Khan, Hafiz Naeem, Rana Mahmoodul Hassan, Hamid Khan, Anwarul Haq Kakar, Aimal Wali Khan, Sardar Yousaf, Shahram Khan, Anjum Aqeel, Sheikh Aftab, Aqeel Malik, Daniyal Chaudhry, Sheikh Waqas Akram, Attaullah Tarar, Mian Azhar, Zain Qureshi, Ijazul Haq, Tariq Bashir Cheema, Owais Leghari, Jamshed Dasti, Khursheed Shah, Maulana Fazlur Rehman, Mahmood Achakzai, Akhtar Mengal, and Farooq Sattar.
