British-American filmmaker Christopher Nolan, who won 7 Oscars earlier this month for his movie Oppenheimer, is yet to earn another badge.
The British-American filmmaker’s historical Oscar victory for ‘Oppenheimer’ has led him to receive a knighthood from Britain for services to film. Nolan’s wife and film producer Emma Thomas receive a damehood, the female equivalent of a knighthood, according to the British government.
Featuring Cillian Murphy, Oppenheimer is a biopic about the race to build the first atomic bomb. The movie is based on the biographical novel “American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J. Robert Oppenheimer,” the film follows the physicist as he works alongside a team of government scientists to develop nuclear weapons in the early 1940s.
Besides Murphy, Oppenheimer features Robert Downey Jr., Matt Damon, Casey Affleck, Emily Blunt, and Rami Malek. Moreover, Nolan tapped into younger audiences through Oscar nominees Florence Pugh, Josh Peck, and Topher Grace.
Among many awards, the movie recently claimed seven Academy Awards which were held earlier this month, including the Best Picture trophy and Nolan’s first Best Director Oscar. His career includes other highly regarded films such as Interstellar, Inception, Dunkirk, and the Batman trilogy.
