The flight tickets to the United Arab Emirates from many parts of the world would plummet in mid-January 2024, the Gulf News reported.
While citing sources, the news outlet claimed that fares would drop even on longer haul routes, and travelers who plan last-minute bookings could also avail of the service.
According to Malou Prado, the CEO of Dubai-based MPQ Travel and Tourism, long-haul routes from the UAE would see the “biggest fare reductions” by the second and third week of January.
The demand for Dubai flights has been high from large tour groups in the recent past, making it difficult for travelers to book last-minute flights.
“Economy class fares (from January 15 to 29) on the London Heathrow Airport to Dubai International will see a drop of AED2,410 compared to the December highs of AED5,135 (one-way) while return economy class rates from New York to Dubai will be at Dh3,519 compared to Dh6,487 travelers had to put up the last week of December,” it said.
Moreover, the airfare from San Francisco to Dubai would be Dh5,943 which was Dh7,600 in Dec and flights from Boston are Dh4.276. Fares to European destinations would average from Dh2,722 (Paris) to Dh3,005 (Amsterdam).
Manila to Dubai airfares would fall to Dh2,000 by January end as compared to Dh5,000 paid in Q4-23. “Currently, UAE’s in and outbound ticket rates are surfing at well over 25 to 50 percent higher than what they were in September and first-half October,” the news outlet reported.
The local and international airlines benefited from the winter season where they saw a high travel demand.
Some 4.7 billion people are expected to travel in 2024, according to the International Air Travel Association.
