ISLAMABAD: The government has reduced the prices of petroleum products, and the Ministry of Finance has issued an official notification.
According to the details, the notification period for petroleum product prices issued by the Federal Ministry of Finance is 15 days. The government has reduced the price of petrol by Rs 4.74 paise per liter from June 1 and fixed the new price at Rs 268.36 paise per liter.
In the notification issued last night, it is stated that the government has reduced the price of diesel by Rs 3.86 paise and fixed the new price of diesel at Rs 270.22 paise per litre. The price of kerosene has been reduced by Rs 1 87 paise per litre, the new price is Rs 171 61 paise per litre.
According to the notification, the government reduced the price of light diesel oil by Rs 3 88 paise per litre, after which the new price of light diesel oil became Rs 157 29 paise per litre. It should be noted that the government has still maintained the levy of Rs 60 per liter on petrol and diesel.
Earlier, the prime minister’s Office recommended a reduction in the price of petrol by Rs 15.40 paisa and the price of diesel by Rs 7.90 paise, however, in the notification issued by the Ministry of Finance, the price of petrol has been reduced by Rs 4.74 paisa and the price of diesel by Rs 3.86 paise per liter has been reduced.
