Maryam Nawaz  lauds PML-N women wing's performance

LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Vice-President Maryam Nawaz has once again ruled out dialogue with the Prime Minister Imran Khan-led government by refuting speculation of internal rifts within the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM).

Addressing a press conference in the Khokhar brothers’ residence, leader Maryam Nawaz said that the government’s wish to see the Opposition’s alliance fall victim to internal rifts would yield nothing.

The PML-N leader further said that the PDM would not enter into any kind of negotiations with the government amid calls for dialogue.

“Even if there is a disagreement on any issue within the PDM, it is resolved in an amicable approach,” Maryam said. She urged Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari to present his suggestion on bringing about an in-house change with other members of the PDM.

She arrived at ‘Khokhar Palace’ to express solidarity with the Khokhar family following the demolition of their property. The Punjab government had on Sunday demolished several structures around houses of the Khokhar brothers and their relatives near Johar Town in a day-long operation.

She alleged that Prime Minister Imran Khan himself monitored and oversaw the demolition of properties belonging to the family of PML-N leaders MNA Afzal Khokhar and former MPA Saiful Malook Khokhar in Lahore.

Strongly condemning the demolition, Maryam said the rule of injustice could not prevail. The PML-N stands united in the face of injustice and revenge and by refusing to abandon Nawaz’s cause, the party for the first time in its history had refused to bow down before injustice and the incumbent government, she stressed.

“This is a historic failure which PM Imran and his PTI leaders had to face,” said Maryam, adding that the PML-N’s roots were entrenched deeply into the nation and the whole of Pakistan.

However, she said, Imran Khan has no such thing, it is a one-man show and when that person weakens then this party will shatter and scatter.

The PML-N leader lashed out at Justice (retd) Azmat Saeed, who is heading the inquiry commission to investigate the Broadsheet case, saying that he was the founder of the “WhatsApp JIT”.

Justice Saeed was involved in conspiracies against the PML-N government, adding that he was an employee of the National Accountability Bureau when the Broadsheet agreement was signed, Maryam said.
