Renowned American actor and filmmaker Mark Ruffalo used the Golden Globe Awards platform to launch a scathing critique of the Trump administration’s foreign policy and domestic enforcement actions.
During the event, when questioned about a pin on his lapel, Ruffalo revealed it was worn in memory of Renee Nicole, who was reportedly killed by an agent of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
The actor used the gesture to highlight concerns over the conduct of federal immigration authorities.
Ruffalo spoke candidly about the geopolitical tensions involving the U.S. and South America, stating that the country is in the midst of a “war” with Venezuela.

He accused the administration of spreading misinformation regarding the conflict.
“We have a ‘wise’ president who is lying about what is actually happening,” Ruffalo remarked sarcastically. He further asserted that the United States had carried out an “illegal attack” on Venezuela, signaling to the global community that international law holds no weight for the current administration.
The filmmaker concluded with a stark warning about the ethical direction of the country, questioning the character of the leadership steering the world’s most powerful nation.
“If we are relying on this man’s morality for the most powerful country in the world, then we are all in a lot of trouble,” Ruffalo stated.
