Manchester United has been linked with a sensational transfer move for Chelsea flop, Timo Werner ahead of the January transfer window.
United’s interest in Werner comes at a time when the club is in dire need of more reinforcement in their attack owing to the struggles Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial have endured in front of the goal.
The German spent two years in the Premier League with the Blues, who he joined in the summer of 2020 from Bundesliga giants, RB Leipzig.
The German international has been linked with Real Madrid as well. But the Spanish giants are unlikely to make a move for him. The Merengues need attacking reinforcements, but they are not desperate for Werner.
The 28-year-old has done quite well for RB Leipzig since returning to Germany last year, and it will be interesting to see if Manchester United can convince him to return to the Premier League once again.
Timo Werner struggled during his time at Chelsea, and a return to his comfort zone has worked wonders for him. It seems highly unlikely that the player will decide to return to the Premier League once again, especially when he struggled to adapt to the intensity and physicality of the league during his time at Chelsea.
