Manchester United came back from 1-0 down to beat Manchester City 2-1 in a stunning late turnaround in a dramatic derby at Old Trafford.
After Jack Grealish headed City ahead from Kevin de Bruyne’s cross on the hour mark, it appeared that they were getting closer to Premier League leaders Arsenal. However, United stunned their supporters with an incredible comeback.
With 12 minutes remaining, Erik ten Hag’s team controversially tied the score when Bruno Fernandes scored while Marcus Rashford was in an offside position, despite City’s claims that he had interfered with play being ignored despite the flag being raised.
Rashford was the central figure again four minutes later when he swept in substitute Alejandro Garnacho’s cross at the Stretford End to move United to within one point of City, who remain five points adrift of Arsenal.

In spite of the humiliating 6-3 loss they suffered at Etihad Stadium in the first week of October, Ten Hag believed that lessons had been learned.
And so it has been. With this victory, United now have just one loss in their last 19 games across all competitions, which is hardly credible after that derby loss and a terrible start to the season that saw them lose at home to Brighton before being thoroughly outclassed at Brentford. They are now right behind City in third place in the table.
