RAWALPINDI: Police have arrested a man after he allegedly tried to rape an eight-year-old girl in Ratta Amral area.
According to details, the girl was immediately shifted to the hospital after the incident.
Police arrested the accused, a 50-year old man, Akram urf Ramu, who attempted to rape the girl after abducting her.
In this regard, SP Rawalpindi took notice of the incident and directed the DSP City to reach the spot immediately after which SHO Ratta Amral reached the hospital.
SP Rawal said, “We have adopted an intolerance policy on child abuse.”
After the arrest of the accused in the tragic incident, SP Rawal Rai Mazhar Iqbal said, “We will not tolerate any violence against children.” A case has been registered against him, he added.
It is to be recalled that the police arrested the accused in connection with the rape of two innocent girls in Saryab Road Kali Kamalu area of Quetta.
Last month, a 6-year-old girl Sabra and a 7-year-old girl Nayab were sexually assaulted by a shop owner at Suri Road Kali Kamlu Uzbek Market, after which the locals beat and handed the accused over to the police.
