KARACHI: A man in Karachi has allegedly raped his cousin sister in Karachi’s Korangi area, the victim’s family claimed.
According to details, the incident took place two months ago at the victim’s aunt’s home. The man has been identified as Kashif Jamali. The victim’s mother informed that Kashif Jamali brutally raped her daughter and threatened to kill her.
However, the victim, frightened by the incident, told the whole incident to a friend who lived in the neighborhood, who informed her mother in this regard.
The victim’s mother claimed that she tried to file a case against the accused but her brother, who is a police officer, took a bribe from the Kashif’s family and pressurize them to suppress the case.
After two months, the victim’s family filed the case against Kashif Jamali and legal proceedings were started. Due to the influence of the Kashif’s family, the witness of the incident, Ismail, was later arrested by the police and accused him of raping the girl.
Talking to M.M News, Ismail informed that the police had assaulted him in order to suppress the case. He further said that the influential family had warned of indicting him in other cases as well.
The victim’s mother has appealed to Governor Sindh, Chief Minister Sindh, and Inspector-General of Police (IGP) to take action against the culprits and provide justice to her daughter.
