A shocking video is circulating on the social media platform X, in which a young man and his biological sister have been detained by the police in Pakhtunkhwa for marrying each other, a clear violation of Islamic law and the laws of the country.
In the video, a reporter is asking questions of the boy and the girl. The boy responds that his name is Saqib and that this is his sister, and they both got married in Karachi. When asked about the situation, he acknowledges that he knows it is wrong but claims he did this for his sister’s protection. However, he does not explain what he means by protection or the background of the situation.
The girl also speaks, admitting that what they have done is wrong, but insists they had to do it for protection.

Another man in the video can be heard saying that both the brother and sister are his niece and nephew and that they did not actually solemnize the Nikah. He explains that they have a dispute with their father, and to hurt him, they staged this drama. This man identifies himself as Anwar Ali and states that he is from Khitab village.
When asked about the police conducting a medical examination on the girl, and what would happen if the report confirmed a marital relationship between them, Anwar Ali confidently replies that there would be no such implications, insisting that this is all just a drama to hurt their father.
