Karachi Traffic Police has announced the temporary closure of traffic movement on both carriageways of the Malir River Bridge at N-5 (Murghi Khana), Quaidabad, due to ongoing development and construction work related to the under-construction Malir Expressway project.

In a press release issued on Friday, the traffic police said the closure will remain in effect from 7am to 7pm on July 18 and 19 to facilitate the safe and timely completion of the construction activities.

The closure will be implemented within the jurisdiction of the Malir City Traffic Section to ensure the safe, efficient and timely completion of the construction work.

According to traffic authorities, motorists travelling from Quaidabad are advised to take a U-turn on the Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Expressway and continue towards Malir City to reach their destinations.

Vehicles approaching from the Malook Hotel side on the National Highway will be able to pass beneath the Malir River Bridge and proceed towards Steel Mills, the statement added.

The Karachi Traffic Police has urged citizens to follow designated alternative routes and comply with traffic regulations during the closure period.

Traffic personnel will remain deployed at key points to guide commuters and maintain smooth traffic flow.
