KARACHI: Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) prices have started declining across Pakistan following the restoration of supply from Iran, bringing relief to consumers.
According to Ali Haider, convener of the LPG Standing Committee of the FPCCI, daily supply of around 6,000 tons of LPG from Iran has returned to normal after the ceasefire and the conclusion of Nowruz holidays, significantly improving market availability.
He stated that LPG prices have already dropped by Rs20 per kilogram, with expectations of a further decrease of up to Rs50 per kilogram in the coming days as supply stabilizes.
Ali Haider noted that while the OGRA had set the official LPG price at Rs304 per kg, some market players had pushed prices as high as Rs440–450 per kg during the supply disruption.
Pakistan relies heavily on imports to meet its LPG demand, with approximately 65 percent of its consumption sourced from abroad, and nearly 90 percent of that supply coming from Iran.
