PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police force have been barred from taking part in any kind of protest.
Addressing Jawans and officers, the KP Police top brass issued a letter urging them to abide by the Constitutional limits and not to become part of any protest. The letter citied a letter issued by the Ministry of Interior dated October 26, 2022, which says “there should be defined way of carrying out of protests as enshrined in the Constitution and in various judgements of the Supreme Court of Pakistan. It is equally important to ensure that no government employee be allowed to any such protest.”
The letter asked CCPO Peshawar, RPOs, DPOs, Addl IGP and other officers, personnel not to violate the territorial jurisdiction and legal mandate they had been assigned as per KP Police Act 2017.
