ISLAMABAD: Information Minister Syed Shibli Faraz has warned that a further lockdown can be imposed if precautions are not maintained.
Syed Shibli Faraz took to Twitter and wrote that the economy and protection of people’s health have to be managed together.

— Senator Shibli Faraz (@shiblifaraz) May 8, 2020

Terming the phased softening of lockdown a reflection of care for the disadvantaged population, the minister said that it will help support small businesses.
According to him, a longer lockdown would have permanently closed down the earnings of smaller businesses.
Shibli Faraz further said that standard operating procedure (SOP)s must be strictly enforced by business sectors while calling the pandemic a combined national problem that needs to be fought together.
The minister earlier this week assured that the government is taking steps for the betterment of the journalist community.
He said that the government firmly believes in the fundamental and legal right of freedom of expression, adding that the issues confronted by media could be resolved with joint efforts by government and journalists.
The minister claimed that the previous governments did not pay attention to formulating media laws. He urged media to play a constructive role in the betterment of the country and its people.
