The people of Pakistan facing historical inflation particularly inflated electricity bills. The government had claimed to save Rs 1,100 billion as a result of the review of IPP (Independent Power Producers) contracts, but instead of passing on its benefits to the people, electricity prices are being continuously increased.
Jamaat-e-Islami thinks that these savings should go into the pockets of the people and electricity rates should be reduced, but the government has not done so, on which Jamaat-e-Islami has announced a protest.
