LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) has extended the interim bail of Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif till 28th September in the money laundering and disproportionate assets case.
Shehbaz Sharif filed an application in the High Court for his bail. A two-member bench of the LHC headed by Justice Sardar Ahmed Naeem heard Shehbaz Sharif’s bail plea.
The lawyer of Shehbaz Sharif said that arresting the opposition leader was nothing more than satisfying one’s ego. The investigating officer told the client that there was no need for further investigation. “You will be informed when needed. My clients are also ready to give an affidavit on this,” he said.

The lawyer said that the accountability court had rejected the request for physical remand of Shehbaz Sharif on the same charges on which NAB wanted to arrest him. Orders that are based on malice have no status in the eyes of the law, he said.
The Chairman NAB does not have unlimited powers nor does he have more than one police officer. There is no law in the country to deal with the increase in assets.
The petitioner has taken a stand as to why every petition against the opposition shows a patriotic Pakistani or an educated true Pakistani. In the case of acquittal, there is no legal right to take action against the petitioner of baseless allegations.
