LARKANA: The district police, in a raid, have recovered yet another big stock of stolen medicines from a graveyard located near the shrine of Qaim Shah Bukhari.
According to details, police conducted the raid on a lead given by some suspects picked up in connection with an investigation into pilferage of government medicines.
The raiding team found as many as 26 cartons containing stolen medicines and took the stock in custody. The recovered medicines are worth millions of rupees.
In this regard, a police official informed that the probe was being conducted by a joint investigation team and was not accepting any political pressure.
The 26 cartons of medicines is another addition to the 100 cartons of similarly ‘stolen medicines’ that were recovered four days ago from private warehouses. Police arrested some employees of the District Health Office including a doctor, in charge of the stores, and others.
Over the past few days, police carried out two consecutive raids within the jurisdiction of the Dari and Civil Lines police stations and recovered stocks of stolen medicines from some private warehouses.
The District Head Office was also raided to pick up the storekeeper and some other suspects.
