Regarding the Punjab government’s laptop scheme phase 2, it has been decided in a meeting of the laptop steering committee that the students included in the second phase will be verified by NADRA so that only eligible and meritorious students can get the benefits of the scheme.
According to the details, the meeting approved the in-principle decision to verify students with NADRA, however, the date for the regular start of the second phase of laptop distribution could not be determined.
According to government officials, formal approval will be obtained from the Chief Minister of Punjab through a summary for the distribution of laptops, after which the schedule will be issued.
On the other hand, the Higher Education Department has not yet been able to prepare the complete schedule for the second phase, due to which thousands of students are anxiously awaiting the announcement.
Sources say that many eligible students of the first phase in Sahiwal division have not yet been able to get laptops, on which the students have demanded distribution as soon as possible.
