LAHORE: The Lahore Metrobus service faces the possibility of suspension from August 11 after the private company operating the service announced that it may halt operations.

Veda, the company operating the Metrobus service, has issued a final notice to the Punjab Masstransit Authority (PMA) regarding the suspension of the service.

The company said its financial resources have been exhausted and that it is no longer possible to continue operations. It also cited the lack of uninterrupted fuel supplies for the Metrobus service as a key reason behind the decision to suspend operations.

According to Veda, the Punjab Masstransit Authority has failed to resolve the issue of fuel supplies.

The company has informed the authority that all Metrobus operations in Lahore will be suspended from August 11.

Veda further said that, in accordance with the court’s order, it would not be able to continue the service unless a reliable and uninterrupted fuel supply is ensured.
