ISLAMABAD: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has announced an aid package of Rs100 million ($359,901) for the distressed population of Gaza, as confirmed by his aide on information and public relations.
This announcement comes amidst escalating casualties in Palestine, with the death toll surpassing 32,000 individuals, including numerous women and children, since October 7, 2023, due to ongoing military assaults by Israel.
Pakistan, alongside other nations, has vehemently called for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and urged for unimpeded access to essential resources such as food and medical aid, as warned by international organizations regarding the looming famine and potential disease outbreaks in the region.
In a statement released by Barrister Dr. Muhammad Ali Saif, the special assistant on information and public relations, Chief Minister Gandapur’s aid pledge was highlighted. It was stated that the Palestinian ambassador to Pakistan would imminently receive the allocated funds, which will be utilized to procure essential supplies for the people of Gaza.
Dr. Saif emphasized the solidarity of the KP government with the oppressed inhabitants of Gaza during these challenging times, urging both Muslim nations and the international community to contribute to the assistance efforts for Palestine.
Pakistan maintains a stance of non-recognition towards Israel and consistently advocates for an independent Palestinian state based on internationally accepted parameters and the pre-1967 borders, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif designated as its capital.
