Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has instructed relevant authorities to develop a sustainable plan to ensure the proper utilization of social security funds.
He has directed the arrangement of a collective marriage program for 4,000 deserving women from various areas of the province. Each woman participating in the program will receive a grant of Rs0.2 million from the dowry fund.
These directives were issued during a meeting at the Chief Minister’s House on Friday, attended by MNA Dr. Amjad Ali Khan, Secretary of Social Welfare Nazar Hussain Shah, and other officials.
Chief Minister Gandapur emphasized the importance of collecting accurate data on deserving women from all districts and allocating quotas based on each district’s population. This ensures transparency in the decision-making process for mass marriages.
He stressed the need for an efficient scrutiny mechanism to ensure that only deserving candidates are selected for the program. Gandapur insisted that committee members at the village council level should be chosen based solely on merit.
Furthermore, he emphasized that political influence or personal preferences will not be tolerated in the distribution of social security funds. Additionally, the Chief Minister instructed authorities to provide standard electric wheelchairs to individuals in need.
