Earlier in the day, while dismissing the plea of Imran Khan seeking exemption from personal appearance in the case of Zille Shah murder, vandalism and torture of police at Zaman Park, the ATC Judge had asked him Imran Khan to appear on 11:00 AM today or face bail cancellation.
“Please tell me whether Imran Khan is coming or not. I have to look at the law. Do not give the examples of other courts. Only by appearing in the court can Imran Khan get relief. Even his surety bonds have not been submitted,” the ATC judge Abher Gul Khan was quoted as telling lawyers of Imran Khan.
Relief will be given to those in the case who appear before the court, the judge remarked and asked PTI chief’s lawyer will his client appear before the court or not.
It may be recalled that several PTI leaders and workers were booked on the police’s complaint for ‘attacking’ them during a raid at the former prime minister’s Zaman Park residence in Lahore.
Admin Judge Amber Gul Khan heard the case as duty judge as judge Aijaz Ahmed is on the leave.
Surrounded by security personnel, Khan appeared in the chamber of Judge Abher Gul Khan who extended his interim bail till April 13.
