Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday launched Rs20 billion Ramadan package for 4 million deserving families across the country, benefitting about 20 million people.
Key points of the package:
- 4 million deserving families comprising about two crore people will get relief from this package.
- The amount will be distributed in the first ten days of Ramadan.
- Each family through digital wallets will get Rs 5,000.
- State Bank of Pakistan, NADRA, BISP and tech companies will devise a digital mechanism for distribution of the amount.
- The package will cover all parts of the country.
It should be noted that alongside the federal government, all provinces in the country also announce Ramadan packages for deserving families in their respective areas.

Besides, government packages, many wealthy people also distribute cash, food, clothes for Eid and other relief goods among the poor and needy countrymen.
Moreover, the government has announced a total of 600 stalls at the tehsil level to provide sugar at the subsidized price of Rs. 130 kg.
