Pop star Katy Perry has denied a sexual assault allegation made by actress Ruby Rose, who claimed the incident occurred nearly 20 years ago at a nightclub in Melbourne.
Rose made the accusation in a series of posts on Threads, alleging that Perry sexually assaulted her at Spice Market nightclub when she was in her early twenties.
The Australian actress, now 40, said it took her almost two decades to speak publicly about the incident.
In her posts, Rose also claimed she initially downplayed the experience as a “funny little drunk story” due to not knowing how to process it at the time.

She further alleged that Perry later agreed to assist her with a U.S. visa, which contributed to her remaining silent.
Rose said the long delay in speaking out reflected the lasting impact of trauma and sexual assault.
Following the allegations, Perry has denied the claims.
Katy Perry’s representative vehemently denied the allegations, calling them “categorically false” and “dangerous reckless lies.”
Perry’s representative also said that Rose has a “well-documented history” of making serious public allegations against various individuals.
