The traffic police had on Wednesday temporarily closed the KPT Underpass located in Clifton amid reservations of structural damages to heavy rains in Karachi last week.

According to the traffic police, the measures were taken keeping in view the safety of human lives, while advice was being sought from technical advisers. The traffic was been diverted and citizens were urged to take alternative traffic routes to avoid any inconvenience.

After the recent rains in the city, several underpasses including Punjab Chowrangi underpass, KPT underpass, Drigh Road underpass and other were filled with rainwater.
