KARACHI: The city police encounters in three separate areas left three alleged robbers injured, while police arrested another suspect without injury, officials said.
The incidents took place in Korangi, Federal B Area and Bahadurabad. Police and emergency service officials provided details about the arrests and recoveries.
Karachi police encounters reported in three areas
The first Karachi police encounters incident occurred near Khadi Stop in Korangi No. 5. Edhi officials said police arrested an alleged robber in an injured condition.
Officials identified the suspect as 35-year-old Salman. Rescue workers shifted him to Jinnah Hospital for medical treatment.
Another incident took place near Federal B Area T Ground, according to Chhipa officials. Police arrested alleged robber Zameer Ali after he suffered injuries.
Authorities shifted Zameer to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. Police also recovered a weapon from his possession.
Karachi police encounters lead to arrests
The third incident occurred near Ocean Tower in the Bahadurabad police jurisdiction. Police arrested two alleged robbers, including one who sustained injuries during the encounter.
Officials identified the suspects as Rafaqat Ali and Muhammad Rafiq. Police recovered two pistols, mobile phones, cash and a motorcycle from them.
The Karachi robbers arrested in these incidents remain under investigation. Police are expected to determine whether the suspects were involved in other street-crime cases.
Surjani Town youth suicide investigation
Separately, police found the body of an 18-year-old youth with a noose around his neck inside a house in Saif Al-Marri Goth, Surjani Town.
Officials shifted the body to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital and identified the deceased as Muzammil. Initial police findings indicate a possible suicide, but investigators have not completed the inquiry.
The Surjani Town youth suicide case remains under investigation. Police said they will examine the circumstances surrounding the death and collect further evidence.
