KARACHI: A female police officer, identified as “Dua,” has reportedly confessed to her involvement in the murder of her husband in a high-profile case in Orangi Town, according to police sources.
Investigators said that significant progress has been made in the case of the alleged killing of a young man, Hamza, who was initially suspected to have died by suicide. However, police now maintain that the evidence clearly indicates he was murdered and the scene was staged to make it appear as a suicide.
Following the arrest of the female police officer, law enforcement officials conducted a raid in Liaquatabad area of Karachi to apprehend her former husband, Fahad, and another suspect involved in the case. However, both suspects were not found at the location as the apartment was locked and abandoned.
Police officials revealed that Fahad had a previous altercation with the victim outside his residence a few days before the incident, during which he allegedly issued death threats.
During interrogation, the arrested policewoman reportedly confessed to her role in the crime and disclosed details of a longstanding domestic dispute. According to investigators, Dua had first married Fahad, with whom she has three children. Hamza and Fahad were reportedly close friends in the past, and Hamza frequently visited Fahad’s home.
After Fahad and Dua separated due to personal disputes, she later married Hamza. However, tensions also developed in her second marriage, leading to frequent conflicts between the couple.
Karachi police further stated that following the breakdown of her relationship with Hamza, Dua re-established contact with her former husband Fahad. Together, they allegedly planned and executed the murder of Hamza, later attempting to disguise it as a suicide.
Authorities confirmed that Dua is currently in custody, while efforts are ongoing to arrest the absconding suspect Fahad. Multiple raids are being conducted across different areas of the city to bring him to justice.
