Police have identified the body of a young girl found two days ago in Mian Channu as Maimoona, a resident of Karachi.
According to officials, Maimoona had developed an online relationship with a man named Amjad from Chak 126/15-L, Mian Channu, after connecting through Facebook. The suspect later confessed to killing her after she became pregnant during their affair.
In his statement, Amjad admitted that Maimoona had traveled from Karachi to his village, demanding he fulfill his promise of marriage. However, instead of accepting responsibility, he brutally tortured her to death at his home before disposing of her body in an empty plot nearby.
Meanwhile, a minor dispute over fodder turned deadly in Chak Rahmay Shah, Tandlianwala, Faisalabad.
Reports indicate that 20-year-old Asghar Ali got into a heated argument with his uncle, Najaf Ali, over the division of fodder. In a fit of rage, Najaf opened fire on his nephew, critically injuring him. Asghar succumbed to his wounds while being transported to Tandlianwala THQ Hospital.
Police have launched investigations into both cases.
